How to Crochet the Block Stitch
Learn how to crochet the block stitch with this easy-to-follow video tutorial. The stitch itself is pretty easy to work and requires a starting chain of multiples of 5, plus an additional 2 stitches. To start, chain any multiple of 5, plus an extra 2 stitches. In this video, we are chaining 12 .

Row 1: Sc in the second chain from the hook, then *ch 4 and skip 4 sts before sc into the 5th stitch.* Repeat in between the * * for the rest of the row.

Switch to your second color and ch 3. Turn.

Row 2: Dc4 into the ch-4 space, then ch1. Repeat for the row. For the very last stitch, instead of chaining 1, dc.

Switch to your first color, ch 1 and turn.

Row 3: Sc into the top of your first dc stitch, then ch4 and single crochet into the ch 1 space below. Ch 4 and single crochet into the last stitch.
