Whether you, a friend, or your children get anxious, this worry stone project is great to take off some of that edge. These Gratitude Stones are awesome because they are quick and easy to make, and they can keep your hands busy whenever you're feeling anxious. This is definitely a fun crochet project that makes a wonderful DIY gift. Plus, if you have any extra yarn lying around your house that you've been trying to figure out how to use up, take a crack at making some crochet gratitude stones! 

Crochet HookC/2 or 2.75 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials List

  • Yarn
  • Crochet hook
  • Poly-fil
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle to weave in ends

How to Crochet Gratitude Stones

  1. ch 10 sts, leaving a long tail. Slip stitch to join it into the round. Take care not to twist the chain.

  2. Round 1: chain 1, sc 10, sl to join. 

  3. Round 2: ch 1, sc 10. 

  4. Work round 2 to desired length. In the video, Heidi suggests 6 rounds total of single crochet rows.

  5. Flatten tube so it looks like a rectangle. Working flat, ch 1, turn, and sc 5 across top of pouch. Break yarn and draw tail through. 

  6. Stuff pouch with poly-fil. Using long tail from beginning of project, ch 1 and sc 5 across to close pouch. Break yarn and draw tail through. Weave in all ends to finish.
