Instructions

Blanket

  1. Round 1: With A, make an adjustable loop, ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch 3 here and throughout), [work 3 dc into ring, ch 3] 3 times, work 2 dc into ring, slip st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-6 to join – 12 dc and 4 ch-3 spaces.

  2. Round 2: Slip st to second ch of first ch-3 space, ch 6, dc in same ch, [dc in next ch, dc in each dc to next ch-3 space, dc in next ch, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next ch] 3 times, dc in next ch, dc in each dc across to first ch-3 space, dc in next ch, slip st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-6 – 28 dc, 4 ch-3 spaces.

  3. Rounds 3-6: With A, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  4. Rounds 7-12: With B, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  5. Rounds 13-17: With C, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  6. Rounds 18-22: With D, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  7. Round 23-26: With E, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  8. Rounds 27-30: With F, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  9. Rounds 31-33: With G, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round.

  10. Rounds 34-36: With H, repeat Round 2, increasing 16 dc each round. Fasten off.

Finishing

  1. Tassels

    Cut two pieces of any color yarn, 20" [51 cm] long, and holding lengths together, knot in one ch-3 corner space. Cut 10 lengths of each color, each 10" [25 cm] long. Holding 80 lengths together, lay pieces centered across the knotted corner length. Tie the corner length tightly around the center of the 80 lengths to secure. Fold pieces in half, tucking corner lengths ends into bundle. Cut two more pieces of any color yarn, 20" [51 cm] long, and holding lengths together, knot around bundle, 1" [2.5 cm] from previous knot to make a tassel. Trim Tassel ends evenly. Repeat to make a tassel in each corner.

    Weave in ends.

Abbreviations

Adjustable loop ring
Holding yarn a few inches [cms] from end, wrap around your finger. Do not remove wrap from finger, insert hook into wrap and draw up a loop of working yarn. Chain one to secure loop and remove ring from finger. Work stitches of first round in ring. Pull gently, but firmly, on tail to tighten ring.
