Whether or not you love cats, you're going to fall in love with The Meow Collection of yarns by Ancient Arts. This unique collection of luxury yarn is a combined effort of the Meow Foundation and Ancient Fiber Arts. Aside from rasing money for the Meow Foundation, Ancient Arts helps raise awareness for homeless cats with beautiful yarn inspired by felines. Each skein of yarn includes a photo of the cat that the color is based on. Choose from cat-inspired colors such as Orange Tabby, Siamese Cat, Kitten Nose Pink, Cat's Eye Gold, Maine Coon Kali, Tortoiseshell Cat, and Cat's Eye Green, just to name a few (Calico Cat and Himalayan Cat are pictured at left).

Additionally, each beautiful color is available in a variety of diffferent yarn weights/blends. For the purposes of crochet, there are four options that would work exceptionally well. The cat-colored yarn is hand-dyed on 100% superwash Blue Faced Leicester wool in two weights, fingering/sock and DK, and on 75% superwash merino / 25% tussah silk in the same two weights. All four are 4 ply yarns that have been proven to work well with a variety of crochet designs.

Whether or not you are a "cat person," it's hard to resist the Meow Yarn Collection. Not only is this an excellent qualtiy of yarn (hand-dyed with environmentally friendly dyes), but you're also supporting a good cause by using this yarn.
