We're finally feeling the summer heat with the blazing sun and beautiful blue skies; it's time for our fun swim adventures and messy ice cream dates. However, if you don't like cleaning up the mess of melting ice cream then we have something you'll love - Crocheted Abode A La Mode by Twinkie Chan.

In this 112-page book you'll be drooling with excitement as you turn the pages. Now you can turn every day into a sweet day with crochet! You can make cookies for your child's play date in a honey bear apron, you can relax on a donut floor pouf (which the kids will adore), or you can scrub your stress away with a double scoop ice cream cone shower mitt, yes I said it. There are so many cute crochet patterns in this book you won't know what to do with yourself. With 20 unique food-themed patterns you'll be able to make your living space a little more delicious.

Each design has step-by-step instructions with colorful photos to help you make the perfect project. If a diagram is needed, it is certainly provided. What is helpful about this book is that it is divided into chapters for kitchen and dining, living and lounging, bath and beauty, and home office; you'll easily be able to find something fun for that certain area of your home.

The breakfast dishcloths on page 31 would make the cutest housewarming gift for a friend. I mean really, a fried egg, a waffle and a cup of coffee; it just doesn't get any cuter. That is until you turn the pages even further. The frosted animal cookie garland would be adorable for a kids' birthday party, the banana split throw pillow is perfect for a tween's bedroom, and the tv dinner tablet cozy is simply hilarious! One of my favorites in the book is the bread loaf letter organizer; it's such a cute and original way to store your mail.

Every design in this book truly is creative and one-of-a-kind. Each of the patterns provides a lot of detail allowing you to practice your crochet skills such as working in the round and changing colors. The banana split pillow is great because not only are there three scoops of ice cream sitting on top of the banana, but each of the scoops is topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry - all crocheted! If you're looking for something fun and oh, so unique, you're going to love this book.
