Scarves are great accessory that can take you right from the office to dinner, and light and lacy crochet designs like this Springtime Scarf are perfect for the warmer months. A delicate, lacy ruffle gives this scarf the perfect feminine touch.

Easy

Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

MATERIALS:

  • 1 Ball Vickie Howell for Caron
  • Sheep(ish) (167 yds/153 m; 30% wool/70 % acrylic) in color: Hot Pink(ish)
  • Size US I-9 (5.5mm) hook
  • Tapestry needle


Finished Measurements
40” x 4”/101.5 x 10 cm (after blocking)

Gauge
18 sts x 6 rows = 4”/10 cm
In netted stitch pattern, slightly stretched.
Gauge is not that important for this project.

Directions (Make 2)
Ch 22.

Row 1: Sc in 9th ch from hook, *ch 5, sk 3, sc in next st; rep from * to end. Turn. (Total of 4, netted “Os”)

Row 2: *Ch 5, sc in the 5-ch space; rep from * to end. Turn.

Repeat Row 2 until piece measures 17”/43 cm.

Lacey ruffle:
Row 1: Ch 1, *5 sc in 5-ch sp, sc in sc; rep from * to end. Turn. (25 sts)

Row 2: Ch 4, tr in same st as ch, *ch 5, sk 5, 2 tr in next st; rep from * three times more.
Turn. (30 sts)

Row 3: Ch 4, tr in same st as ch, 2 tr in next st, *ch 5, sk 5, [2 tr] twice; rep from * three
times more. (40 sts.)

Row 4: Repeat Row 1.
Tie off.

Finishing
Using tapestry needle and yarn, seam together both flat edges of scarf.
Pinch center at the seam you just created so fabric is gathered; sew in place to creating ruching.

Block scarf.

Just finished this scarf (Springtime), in bright Neon Pink! It came out really good! Now, to figure out who I giving it to...hmmm...lol...oh, heck...I'll make another one ! It's easy looks Great!
