All in One Crochet Hook Case
Keep organized with this all in one crochet hook case. This free crochet pattern will hold your hooks and other smaller items so you won't lose them anymore. This pattern is worked in two layers.
Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook, I/9 or 5.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

I have so many hooks that hook cases are a definite neccesity if I want to keep from losing them. I love being able to make my own case since they can get kind of costly, and making your own doesn't use much yarn. I love that this case has extra pockets to store smaller items like needles and stitch markers.

AS MUCH AS I LOVE TO CROCHET - I THINK I WOULD MAKE IT OUT OF DENIM ( AN OLD PAIR OF JEANS ). I WOULD LINE IT WITH A STRE.TCH DENIM AND PUT A ZIPPER ALL AROUND IT. GREAT IDEA!

I would make this handy little thing out of wool or wool blend yarn, then felt it (place in a zippered pillowcase, then wash and dry in machines); that will keep things from poking out and it looks great!

I wld line this project with something soft, but also make sure hooks etc., wldn't be able to stick out or get lost at the bottom! Thank you so much for the great pattern. I really love your site and all the wonderful patterns and ideas!

First of all, I'd make the Crochet Hook Case, then I'd line it with felt.

As well as lining the hook pockets with something that stops the hooks from sticking out through the holes (could even be felted to get this result), I would attach a flap along the whole of the upper inside edge to cover the tops of the hooks so they don't fall out of the top of the holder when it is closed. I have had this happen before and think that it's best to have the extra flap. This is a good basic design for adding to as needed and allows for lots of flexibility. That extra little pocket is bound to come in handy, too. I like it. Thanks.

I have yet to make this pattern, but I was thinking of lining it with a smaller stitched fabric of yarn. This way, my project is thicker and possible more durable. I also had an idea of modifying it, so that my hooks don't come out the top. If that doesn't work, then a piece of thick fabric - jeans - will be added. Jeans are durable, but when one leg has a huge hole, it's summer out - then you can cut them and use the scraps for other projects. Scraps and a pair of cut-off jeans are good for the summer months.

I would try lining it with a tablecloth material with the plastic embedded in the material.

Unless it is lined, the hooks will slip through the stitching, Try making a long tube with plastic canvass. Insert a cutting from an old soda bottle to fit the bottom. To make an attached cover use double rows of crochet for the joints. For easy opening and closing use a strip of velcro. When finished it makes a great case for all those loose knitting needles
