This is a very practical crochet item. I love that this magical pillowghan serves double duty as a pillow when not needed as a lapgan. I need to make two of these, one for me and one for my hunny. I am positive, that if I have one, he will want one to.

I adore giving this type of gift during the holiday because every one will be surprised at the gift when they find out that it serves more than one purpose. Needless to say, the ladies appreciate it more than the gents. Perfect family gift.

I have seen and done similar before but the idea was an old one re-done. I actually prefer the older version on Priscilla's Crochet . com because it is a bit more sturdy and this (sewn in the corner pillow top) looks as if it can easily be ripped off by a child.

This is one of the best crochet projects I have ever seen! I love the idea of having a throw that you make into a pillow. A great way to store the throw.. The pattern is well written with so many pictures to help you along the way. So great, I can't wait to make a few. These will be great for the kids in the car on a road trip or just to have at home. Looking forward to this one. Thank you so much for sharing this great crochet Magical Pillowghan pattern.

This is a very cute idea. This gift can be for a man or a woman. There is a more masculine version of this pillowghan available at this link http//crochetparfait.blogspot.com/2013/06/masculin == e-pillowgahn.html . Made with Loops and Threads Impeccable yarn, this pillowghan tutorial contains lots of reference pictures to make it easier.

Ive actually made a childs sized quilt version of this project, but never thought about working a crochet cover for the pillow. I really appreciate the link to the more masculine version as this is the one Ill be making. My son has couple of pieces of fake fur fabric that he keeps in his car as emergency blankets. Ive seen him fold those up more than once to make a cushion. Im going to steal one of them and work a cover in camo yarn, voila! Instant Christmas present!

I need to make one of these for my daughter in law. She likes to take a nap on the family room sofa while the baby is also napping. But she says its such a bother to drag an afghan out and then put it away again. This would solve her problem.

That is pretty neat. A afghan that folds neatly up to become a pillow. Very cool. I see in the description that this is made with super chunky yarn. This will be a pretty quick project then I am assuming. I think we need a few of these in the car for when we go on a family vacation. There is always someone trying to nap of trips.

I happen to like the color combination the designer chose, but I know my hubby probably wouldn't be too keen on it. This would be stunning in a classic black and taupe. Make the afghan in a gray tone. I appreciate the extensive use of pictures within the pattern. It should make it a lot easier for those who are not quite experienced enough in specialty stiches like the fans shown. A nice piece of work!

I have always loved these pillow afghans. They are brilliant and perfect for cozy winter evenings. Can't wait to make this one.

I would love to make this item, but after three minutes of looking at the photos, I have a splitting headache. The stitch is not difficult, and the designer is very clear in explaining what to do; it's the beautiful background fabric that is giving me problems. You see, it has beautiful, somewhat ornate pattern, but when I am trying to concentrate on the close-up pics of the stitch, my eyes are being pulled in different directions by the fabric pattern! Please all designers: use a plain, colored background with contrasting yarn for pics and demonstrations. Eyes everywhere will be grateful!

I have been doing this for about ten years it works for any shape after finish the afghan just make a smaller version and sew it . It is awesome all my friends wants one.

This is truly a clever idea. Wish I had seen this about 4 afghans ago. May "retrofit" one of my existing lapghans with the pillow addition.
