It is important to protect out little ones when going out into the harsh sun. This is not only a cute chapeau for a little boy but by changing the color of the yarn it could easily be for an adorable little girl. Thanks for the free easy starfish sun hat pattern.

My Paternal Grandmother would have called this little beauty a bucket hat. My boys were partial to this type of hat and I had little trouble getting them to wear a hat when going outside to play. I would have made this for each of them I had been crocheting while they were growing up.
