Not sure what the commenter meant by access to this pattern was restricted. The pattern is easy to get to via the button the get the pattern, but that comment was made a couple of years ago so I assume either she clicked the wrong link or the error has been fixed.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this pattern ... Have made some gifts for some orthodox friends who keep their hair covered, for a friend who wears dreds, even used the pattern to create a dress pattern for a toddler! The shells alternating with the front double crochet creates such an interesting texture! A lot of fun once you have that pattern down!

I have tried to make this hat twice and both times have ended up with this enormous thing that no human could wear. Either I have suddenly forgotten how to read patterns, or something's wrong with this pattern.

Used a lovely lavander color for this one ... It IS supposed to be pretty big. Exactly how big do you mean?

I have tried this hat twice now, and both times, I have ended up with this enormous thing that no human could possible wear. I love the hat and the way it looks, but unless I have forgotten how to read patterns, it just isn't working.

Hi This is a review for the crocheters that are trying to find the slouch pattern ! i am wanting to crochet this hat but unfortunately the pattern is some how restricted WHY??? Who knows, computer clitch! So if you want to do this one my suggestion is go to the ebooks on the right of this page scroll to beanie caps and more take a look at the slouch there is a full pattern page 15 16 get your yarn requirements here from the Sea Breeze Summer slouch, then go for it! I was working on this slouch and now I can't access the pattern or the designer's site. Has this pattern been removed? I hope not since I'm half way finished with it.

I have been working on this pattern and think that I have found an error: after 9 double crochets are worked around between 2 dbc in one stitch; the instructions say to add ten dbc between 2 dbc; but the total stitch count remains the same as the previous row...not possible! This throws of the count of the 4 dbc shells in the following rows! This really threw me for a LOOP until I found the error! I will continue with the last row where 10 dbc were added and make corrections to my printed pattern...I believe there will now be 36 double crochet shells and 144 stitches at the end of this row. :)
