Americana Afghan

Red and blue stars covering this white crocheted afghan make this Americana Afghan the perfect patriotic pattern ever. This free crochet pattern is made by joining together 20 crochet granny squares, and then sewing on the crocheted squares at the end. Wrap yourself up in this crochet afghan as you watch the Olympic Games, or bring this homemade blanket with you to watch the Fourth of July fireworks.

Somebody must have been reading my thoughts lately! I've been thinking that I need a cotton afghan for my patriotic decor during the summertime in the house. This will fit the bill quite nicely! This would also be perfect to use as I sit on my front porch to watch the local firework show on Fourth of July. The stars add a perfect patriotic bit of texture to the overall effect!

This Americana style afghan is very beautiful. I love the raised stars. I am a little apprehensive about a beige background with those colored stars. How well will this wash up?

This is the best of two techniques. The stars on the granny square Americana Afghan is almost like applique. This is a wonderful take along project that will work up in no time. The stars give such an added bonus of texture. The off-white or beige make this look like old fashion and worn. I like this project.
